The Fourteenth Congress of the C.P.S.U〔B〕

It was held in the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow from December 18 to 31,1925. The Congress was attended by 665 delegates with voting rights and 641 delegates with consultative rights, representing a total of 643,000 party members and 445,000 member candidates.

The Congress discussed the Political and Organizational Reports of the Central Committee, the Report of the Central Revision Committee, the Report of the Central Control Committee, Report of the Representation of the Russian Communist Party at the Executive Committee of the International: On the activity of the trade union, On the activity of the Komsomol, On some changes of the Party Statutes and other reports. The Congress unanimously endorsed the political and organizational lines of the Central Committee, pointed out the way to continue the struggle for the victory of socialism, approved the general policy of the Party in achieving the socialist industrialization of the country, rejected the submissive approach of the opposition elements, and entrusted the Central Committee with a resolute struggle against all attempts to undermine the unity of the Party. The Fourteenth Congress of the Russian Communist Party (B) was recorded in the history of the Party as a congress of industrialization. The Congress was marked by a struggle against the "New Opposition" headed by G. Zinoviev and L. Kamenev who denied the possibility of building socialism in the Soviet Union. In accordance with the resolution of the 14th Congress, the Party was renamed as the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks), or the ACP(B) for short.

The Congress elected the Central Committee, consisting of 63 full members and 43 alternate members, and the Central Control Commission, consisting of 163 members.
