The Party’s Class Foundation and Mass Base

The working class is the class foundation of the Communist Party of China, and the people of all ethnic groups throughout the country is the mass base. Different political parties have different class foundations. They represent the interests of a certain class, and therefore have the unique class foundation and mass base that they rely on.

The Party is the vanguard of the Chinese working class and the product of the combination of Marxism-Leninism and the Chinese workers’ movement. Since its establishment, it has been based on the working class. The emergence and development of the working class is the fundamental condition for the founding of the Party. The Party embodies the essential attributes and outstanding qualities of the Chinese working class. Members of the Party are vanguard fighters of the Chinese working class who possess Communist consciousness. The continuous development and growth of the Party and its leadership are closely related to the unceasing consolidation of its class foundation and the maintenance of its vanguard nature. As the vanguard of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation, the Party has always been based on the people of all ethnic groups in the country.

The fundamental interests of the Chinese working class are consistent with those of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation. Only when the working class liberates all mankind can itself be liberated. The history of the Chinese working class is closely related to that of the entire Chinese people and the Chinese nation. The mission of the Party’s governance is to realize national rejuvenation, serve the people wholeheartedly, and safeguard, realize, and develop the fundamental interests of the greatest possible majority of the Chinese people. The Party has continuously strengthened its class foundation, expanded its mass base, increased its influence in society, united the people of all ethnic groups in the country closely around the Party, and fulfilled the solemn mission entrusted to it by history and the times.
