The Synchronization of "Four Modernizations"

Make industrialization, informatization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization develop simultaneously. The 18th CPC National Congress put forward the goal of “Four Modernizations” with Chinese characteristics, that is, adhering to the path of new industrialization, informatization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization with Chinese characteristics and promoting the deep integration of informatization and industrialization, the benign interaction between industrialization and urbanization and the coordination of industrialization and agricultural modernization to promote the simultaneous development of industrialization, informatization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization. The report of the 19th CPC National Congress once again emphasized the need to adhere to the new development concept, “promote the simultaneous development of new industrialization, informatization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization, actively participate in and promote the process of economic globalization, develop a higher-level open economy, and continue strengthen China's economic strength and comprehensive national strength”.

Modernization is a whole, and the development of “synchronization of the four modernizations” is the basic feature of modern economic development and an important idea to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the economy. First of all, we need to have in-depth integration of informatization and industrialization. Driving industrialization with informatization, and promoting informatization with industrialization, to blaze a path of high technology content, good economic benefits, low resource consumption, less environmental pollution, and full use of human resources advantages. Second, there should be positive interaction between industrialization and urbanization. Industrialization happens on the basis of urbanization, and the process of industrialization is also the process of urbanization. Only by the interaction of the two can a healthy development be achieved. Third, urbanization and agricultural modernization coordinate with each other. Without agricultural modernization, urbanization will become a pool of dead water and without urbanization, agricultural modernization will also lose its developing goals. Agricultural modernization and urbanization constitutes a whole that cannot be separated.

Finally, the coordinated development of industrialization, informatization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization promotes the synchronization of these “four modernizations” in mutual interaction and achieves, so that the leap-forward development of social productive forces can come true.
