Selected Works of Zhu De

The Selected Works of Zhu De was edited by the Party Literature Editing Committee of the Central Committee of the CPC and published by the People's Publishing House for public distribution nationwide from August 1983. The collection contains 65 important writings of Zhu De, 32 of which were published publicly for the first time.

The collection includes 6 writings of Zhu De during the period of the Agrarian Revolutionary War, reflecting the theoretical achievements of Zhu De in planning, commanding operations, carefully studying strategy and tactics suitable for the characteristics of Chinese revolutionary warfare and strengthening the construction of the Red Army. Moreover, it includes 17 writings of Zhu De during the Anti-Japanese War, which profoundly expound the military line of the war, the principles of building the People's Army and the strategy and tactics of the People's War, and put forward a set of methods of leading and governing the army, enriching Mao Zedong's military thoughts on the People's Army and the People's War. Besides these, the collection includes 16 writings of Zhu De during the Liberation War. In addition to his command of the national liberation war, his writings also involve some practical suggestions on economic construction based on his investigations and studies. As for the period after the founding of the PRC, the collection includes 26 writings by Zhu De, covering a series of principles and measures he proposed to strengthen the formalization and modernization of the People's Liberation Army, his many practical suggestions for economic development, and his exposition of the importance of strengthening the building of the ruling party.

The Selected Works of Zhu De is an important historical document for the study and research of the history and theory of the CPC and the People's Army it led, as well as for the study and research of Zhu De's life and own thoughts.
