Belief
Inner conviction of the truth of theory and the correctness of practical acts. Scientific beliefs arise in the process in which men know and change the world, and are based on a true knowledge of objective laws. A scientific belief is completely different from blind faith or religious faith. Blind faith or religious faith are opposite to knowledge and science. Beliefs often run through men’s practical activity in the form of ends and motives, and are combined with feelings and will to form a stable idea governing men’s actions. Theories have a determining effect on the formation of beliefs. Theories influence men’s practical activity by influencing their beliefs, will and other intermediate links. The content of beliefs is multifaceted, including theoretical beliefs, political beliefs, artistic beliefs, and moral beliefs, etc. Moral belief is men’s unwavering belief in certain moral ideals, moral principles and norms, and in the resulting strong sense of responsibility to fulfill the corresponding moral duties. In the composition of moral qualities, moral belief has a basic and central position, and is the organic unity of men’s moral awareness, moral feelings and moral will on the basis of moral practice, and has the characteristics of stability and durability. A firm belief in communism is built on the basis of Marxist theory and is the concentrated manifestation of communist consciousness in thought and communist moral qualities; it spurs people’s to consciously and actively strive for the realization of the communist ideal.
