The Party’s Three Important Fine Conducts
In 1945, Mao Zedong put forward at the Seventh National Congress of the CPC “the conduct of combining theory with practice, the conduct of forging close links with the masses and the conduct of practicing self-criticism. This is a remarkable sign that the Communist Party of China is different from any other political party.” The conduct of combining theory with practice refers to combining the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism with the concrete practice of the Chinese revolution, proceeding from reality and seeking truth from facts. The conduct of forging close links with the masses means that Party organizations at all levels and Party members and cadres should work closely with the masses, serve the people wholeheartedly, do everything for the interest of the masses, never be divorced from the masses for a moment, and to proceed in all cases from the interests of the people and not from your self-interest.
The conduct of self-criticism means that Party organizations and Party members at all levels must always be ready to uphold the truth and correct their mistakes, review their work regularly and discard those ideas, views and methods that are not suitable for the needs of the people.
The fine conduct of the Party reflects the nature of the Party as the vanguard of the working class and reflects the purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, as well as the political stance, ideological style, conduct and moral outlook of the working class party; the fine conduct of the Party is the manifestation of the Party's Marxist world views which is demonstrated in the actions of the Party and its members. The key to carry forward the Party's fine conduct is to carry out ideological education within the Party and strengthen the ideological building of the construction Party.
