Deutsch-Französische Jahrbücher

“German-French Annals”. A German-language publication co-edited by Marx and Ruge and published in Paris. Only the first and second issues were published in February 1844 together.

Deutsch-Französische Jahrbücher published Marx’s On the Jewish Question, Introduction to the Contribution to the Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right and Engels’ Outlines of a Critique of Political Economy and The Condition of England: A Review of Past and Present, by Thomas Carlyle. These works marked the completion of Marx and Engels’ transformation from idealism to materialism and from revolutionary democracy to communism.
